► mr. wright 262 bitch i might be
| It wasn't like Fletcher was actually being serious. Well, mostly. He had been hit on before, though it wasn't usually people who were as old as Flea was assuming Cyril to be. Which is why the man's response nearly caused the younger male to choke on his tea. After choking and regaining his composure, the scrawny teen snickered, trying to hold back his laughter. It wasn't very often people ended up playing along. Or was this guy being serious? If he had been, Flea didn't seem to realize it.
"I-I'm sorry!" he apologized through chuckles. Once he finally managed to calm down from his fit of laughter, probably having managed to turn all attention towards the two of them by now. He was far too easily amused. "Hey! If you keep buttering me up like this I just might be interested." he smirked. Cyril was a bit older than what he was used to, in fact he could probably be his father if Fletcher's judgement was correct, but this was all implying he was actually being serious.
"Oh! I think I see your tactic now." he went on, now playing along with this idea, careful to not drink while the other man was talking now to avoid another incident. "Am I a special case or do you go around hitting on all the musicians you run into?" he questioned with another mischievous grin. He always liked a guy who could play along with his antics. Made it more fun to have someone to bounce off of, after all!

Actually, it was in Cyril's nature to be caught in scandals on purpose, but that was after the people were famous. Though it wasn't bad that the kid was a nobody. The media ate stuff like that up. Fletcher would probably become famous in no time, and by association, Cyril would become even more well-known and notorious. All the while, acting as professional and as sweet-natured as ever. Eventually the media would leave him alone after he'd settle down, let a few quiet months pass and the cycle would start all over again.
"Not particularly," he lied, leaning back into his chair. "Usually I'm a little more forward."
At that, Cyril laughed, finding himself funny if only because it were true. However, at the moment, the man wasn't looking for a bedmate. Not at the current moment.
As for his age, the man was thirty years old. Not quite old enough to be the boy's father, but a respectable adult and father-figure all the same.

► mr. wright 211 come at me bro
| More forward, eh? Fletcher couldn't see it, but maybe the guy was a good actor. That smile of his and the dude's general demeanor practically screamed that he was one of those old fashioned farts that while probably considered romantic, didn't exactly work out all the time. Not that he ever particularly tried being romantic himself, but he was more in it for the sex than an emotional connection anyway.
"Well don't go teasing me then!" he chuckled. "No need to beat around the bush!" He preferred getting right to the point anyway! Though maybe that would be a bit too much to tell to a complete stranger. As if being hit on was not enough of an invitation for more intimate topics.
"That must mean you aren't really into me." he explained with a feigned pout before taking another sip of his drink. "But at least you got me a drink so I guess I'll still be nice to you." Just maybe. Actually Cyril seemed like a pretty cool guy. Someone he could definitely get along with. He still didn't know why his name sounded so goddamn familiar though and it felt like it was something important.

What a bad kid he was, but Cyril played on. He let out a chuckle and ran a hand though his short hair, then adjusted his glasses just a bit. Beating around the bush? Cyril? No, never.
"Who said anything about beating around the bush?" He replied in a kind manner, his eyes relaxed, yet his eyebrows raised. "I'm definitely not teasing you, but ah! Where are my manners?"
With that, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, metallic case. Inside were cards and he pulled out one, handing it over to the younger male. "It must have slipped my mind," he lied as he passed over the business card.

► mr. wright 289 flea is starstruck, give him a minute lol | Of course a tease wouldn't admit to their crime! This old man really wasn't helping his case much. Though as much as he'd like to mess with the older gentleman more, he decided to finally to end the topic. Well, not intentionally at first but he was caught off guard enough to go silent for a moment. Instead he watched as Cyril went to pull out a case, going on about manners. Now what was he doing?
Fletcher didn't exactly know what he'd been expecting, but a card defientely wasn't what he was prepared for. Of course, it wasn't exactly the card itself that confused him, but rather what the card revealed. He took a double take, brows lifting in surprise. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks and was quite evident on his face.
"Waaaaiit a minute!" he shook his head, still not sure he was actually reading this right. This was just too unbelievable. "Y-your.. Cyril Asger?" Manager of one of the biggest labels out there? How the fuck did he manage to run into this big shot? Well it explained why the name was familiar, but now knowing what he did, he wasn't sure how to go about Spectacles anymore. He could have potentially fucked himself over... or won the man over. Why else would he have called him over? Fletcher couldn't help but get excited at the thought, even if he might have been jumping the gun a bit.
"Holy shit..." he breathed out with a chuckle, running his fingers through his hair as he stared at the man in awe. This better not be some fucking dream or he'd cry.

Well, it definitely wasn't a dream and Cyril was sitting right there in front of the boy, sharing a table with him, even. As he was trying to figure out if it was a joke or not, Cyril sat there and took small sips of his mineral water, smiling warmly all the while.
"I hope you don't mind my odd introduction," he finally stated. "But I get a lot of ass kissing. I like to see the real person, not the person trying to win a spot with ANL."
It made sense. Of course it made sense.
"I wasn't lying when I said I liked your sound. What do you think about having a little one-on-one audition with me?" TATE OWENS, his assistant, would probably get irritated to know about the sudden change in Cyril's schedule, seeing how he'd probably have to move stuff around for the encounter to even function, but the manager wasn't thinking about that at the moment. When he would realize, he'd probably take the young assistant out for a fancy dinner at some high scale restaurant. Surely that would smooth things over? "You like the sounds of that?"

► mr. wright 374 | Yeah it was definitely an unfair approach, but a smart one, he had to admit. Still, despite not knowing who he was talking to, Fletcher had apparently given a pretty good first impression without even really trying which was always pretty fucking awesome. He personally didn't want to have to resort to ass kissing and was starting to think that would be the only way to get in the business. Thank whatever gods out there that he wouldn't have to stoop so low! "Sneaky," he began, no point in lying about it. "But I see why you do it." he admitted with a nod. He liked this guy already. His impression of him might have improved slightly thanks to knowing who he really was now, but surely that wasn't too shallow to think.
Despite how calm the young man looked on the outside, he was freaking out just a bit internally. He'd expected it to happen eventually, he had pretty awesome vocals (self-proclaimed), he just hadn't expected it to happen so soon! Of course he was still jumping the gun a bit. Just because he liked his stuff didn't necessarily mean he wanted to sign him onto the label. Oh who are we fucking kidding?! Of course it was! And sure enough the man proved it himself. Well... sort of. It wasn't a solid deal, but it was an opportunity to try to get in which was good enough as far as Flea was concerned, needing no second thoughts when it came to the deal.
"Uh... Yes?!" he exclaimed, almost as if he was shocked he'd even have to ask. But before he'd get too excited and start dancing around like an idiot (not that he didn't look like one already practically bouncing in his seat). "I mean... I might have to clear my schedule a bit, but I'll definitely try to make time." he smirked. As if he had any other plans. Well, maybe he'd have to push back some gaming and a seven hour nap but he was sure he'd be able to make it to an audition that could possibly be his big shot he'd been looking for.

The older man chuckled. "I have to be sneaky in a business like this. There are so many ways little flies can get caught in such beautiful webs. Before they know it, they've been captured and stowed away to be devoured." Basically, the industry was a dog-eat-dog type of place. It could be ugly and dangerous. A person could be cut down to absolutely nothing and thrown away like they were yesterday's garbage. It was so fast-paced, one day you're on top, the next you're down in the dirt where you started. "You think you can handle a place like that, Fletcher?"
He supposed that the boy was going to say "Of course!" and be on his happy ambitious pony wearing rose-colored glasses. They all were, unknowns wishing for that limelight. And he wouldn't be the first, nor the last, and Cyril wouldn't judge. It was normal to feel that way. Fame and fortune was exciting, but it came with its own unique set of backlashes nobody ever really talks about.
And why would they?
Heh, the kid had a schedule to clear? Surely nothing as prestigious as what Cyril had to deal with or even the average adult. Playing along like a good, little pawn, Fletcher was. The manager found it endearing.
"So, tell me, when would you like to visit my office at ANL Records?"

► mr. wright 236 notes | The analogy was almost lost to the boy with a attention span akin to a goldfish, but he managed to keep up though hardly looked intimidated by the implications. Whether that was because he was incredibly naive or aware of the darker happenings of stardom was hard to decipher, but when his balls was questioned, Fletcher once again didn't hesitate the slightest. "No sweat! I ain't no fly." he snickered. A flea, maybe, but not a fly. Somehow that was apparently better in his mind.
Yeah he was probably doomed, but he'd dealt with enough stuff in his life that he was confident he'd be able to overcome anything that came his way. The overly optimistic attitude sort of helped in that regard. That and the fact he was sort of an idiot. But never mind that, he was far too focused on the idea of popularity to be concerned with any backlash he could face while in the spotlight.
"As soon as you can have me~!" Fletcher grinned. What happened to that schedule? Schedule, schmedule! He was content to put aside the act in favor of making this happen as soon as possible. He already couldn't wait for it to happen! Of course he'd actually have to prepare, figure out a song, make sure he was top notch, not that he needed the practice, the whole nine yards!

And there it was, right on cue. If he'd have bet money on it he would've been a million dollars richer. Fletcher, such a cute pup. He amused the older male greatly.
"How's a week from today sound? Gives you enough time to polish up those vocal cords of yours, right?" His eyebrows rose and he sat up a little straighter as he placed his glass down onto the table top. That's when he noticed. "Don't forget about your tea."
The boy had hardly touched his drink. Probably forgot all about it when he realized what type of position he was in. Honestly, Cyril had no idea if he was going to sign the boy onto the label or not. Really, he wanted to see how far the kid would be willing to go, what he wanted out of all of this, more than anything.
