"Oh no," he replied, still smiling from before. "That one thing doesn't exempt you from being weird. You could be afraid of other things that would make you weird. Or you could be into things that would make you weird for all I know." He shifted in place a bit and took a sip from his boba.
"You're not off the hook."

she should be used to talking and talking and not having anyone listen (it's why she's learn to be sparing and deliberate with her words), but she can't but be a little exasperated. "i told you, i'm not afraid of anything."
she can't tell if this guy can smell the crazy on her and is trying to make a joke, or he's genuinely unsure. "like what?" karin decides to make it easier on him. "what's the weirdest possible thing i could be into?"

He was definitely joking wither. Teasing her. She made funny expressions and she was so as a matter of fact about things. It amused him.
"Are you sure you're not afraid of anything? Nothing at all?" He asked, drawing out select words to emphasis his skepticism. Everyone was afraid of something, even if it was small and irrational.
As for what she was into? He shrugged. "I dunno. You tell me." He smirked.

she isn't afraid of anything, she doesn't care enough to be. what she is, is angry. when you are angry and disturbed you gnash your teeth and curl your claws and you don't let go. its the medication that made her mind slow and her heart beat so fast it almost stopped.
karin doesn't dignify him with an answer. she's not wishy washy like that, if she's said it, she meant it.
"i could be a serial killer." murder is frowned upon. death is sad.
in the truest pathetic fallacy, she feels something minuscule, cool and wet, at her hairline. karin glances over to him, wondering if he's noticed. she's right. about the rain.

A serial killer? Michael seemed unfazed by her declaration.
"Is that right?" He asks before drinking more of his boba. He chewed thoughtfully on one of those slimy, black pearls that resided on the bottom of the cup and was sucked up through the oversized straw. "Are you gonna take me away and chop me into bits?"
Anything would be better than the life he was living.

she shrugged. "that would be boring". generic." she replies flatly. she steps out from under the awning, squints at the ground and watches the rain dot the dingy sidewalk while she thinks.
"i would probably disembowel you, draw a picture, and maybe keep your shrunken head like a memento." karin looks back over for a reaction.

He nodded, still sipping on his straw as he locked eyes with her.
"At least my head would be forever preserved," he replied with a perked brow. "Would you paint with my blood? Or just draw what you saw with a boring, old pencil?"

"you wouldn't want to be remembered in your prime?" (that's what youth is, right?) karin figures he looks like a vain boy.
she wonders if he's going to get out of the rain. she could wait forever, to prove some point that's beyond everyone.
"i'm not much of an artist." she remembers the perfectly sharpened pencils and gluey smell of the art classrooms back in school. karin'd probably take finger-painting with viscera.

Remembered in his prime? Michael laughs.
"Hardly anybody remembers me at all to begin with," he states with a shrug. His parents would miss him he figures, his two friends would be pissed and probably would seek revenge. Michael smiles softly at that thought. "You think you can take on two boys who would seek out the person who slaughtered me?"

she shrugs, not particularly sorry to hear that. really, the best way to be memorable is also the best way to be unlikeable, she's found. it's also the easiest way to be.
she looks at him solemnly. "sure." she may not look tough, but karin is ruthless, karin lacks empathy and his prone to fits of violence, as her doctor used to say.
