Roux had gotten down most of his drinks with no problem and was in the process of sucking down another as he stood in the middle of the smoke-filled and laser-lit dance floor. One in the morning and he was still going at it hard. He knew full well that he had an event to attend and yet, he couldn't be bothered to leave the fun. After laughing obnoxiously at some nameless girl's joke and then polishing off the rest of the alcohol in his cup, he proceeded back to the bar. He turned back, waving at the girl with a grin on his face. He looked forward again as he walked with the cheerful smile replaced with a deep frown.
"Pretty sure I've slept with that one already." He said setting his glass on the bar. He watched the bartender refill his glass until he lowered his head on his folded arms. "I should've asked Mike to come along." He told the bartender. "He keeps track of things like that for me." The green haired young man sighed. Did he have to go back out there to that girl or was there something more pleasant nearby? He blinked, eyeing his surrounding casually.

everyone drinks to become someone else. someone bolder and better, generally. violetta hasn't learned the trick. maybe there's a certain drink - something fizzy to light her up, something gold to make her shine, something sweet to smooth her edges. she feels dull and nauseous from mixing drinks, her teeth gritty with sugar and salt. she isn't sure where her sweater went, but it's off and she's sitting with her elbows on the bar and an empty glass between her hands like an anchor. shutting her eyes, the music drowns out her pulse. if she goes home, she'll have to listen, she'll have to think. He managed to catch a dark haired girl in his vision a few stools down. To hit on her or not to hit on her. He cracked his neck as his head did a dramatic turn in the opposite direction. He pondered for a moment, but hesitantly, he began shuffling his feet in her direction. He got to her and laid his drink down on the counter in front of an unoccupied stool beside her.
"So, like, how can you be sad in a place like this?" He asked as he plopped himself down on the stool. "You are sad, right? Or is that a completely normal face you're making?" His head leaned down to the counter and he checked for some kind of a reaction. "Well, that's it." He said waving the bartender over. "She's dead. You killed her." Roux said, pointing a finger at the bartender.

with some pensive fascination she's watching the way the neons reflect on the glinting bottles behind the bar. the voice jolts her from her thoughts, which are blissfully slow and meaningless. propping her chin on her hand, violetta turns to look at the man. bright hair, brighter smile. "i'm just thinking."
she gives a small grin, catching the bartender's eye, then looking back to roux. ROUX LORE

"She has a pulse." He offered as he threw his head backward. Slightly obnoxious, he looked to the bartender. "It's a good thing too. They would've put you away for at least a few years." He told the man. His attention turned on the dark haired girl again. "So, unable to avoid sounding like every girl that I've ever slept with," he groaned and spun on his stool toward her. "What are you thinking about, sweetie?" He used a higher pitch in his voice to ask that question. He held his face in his hands and repeatedly batted his eyelashes as the young woman.
"That's really about all the coaxing I can muster though." The position of his hands soon fell, taking to the bar counter as his body turned back to his glass. "It's only my observation but, the only time someone is thinking at a bar, it's because they want to drown their problems. Like, in a bottle of tequila." He raised a hand, waving over the bartender again. "One tequila, two tequila." He pointed at the places in front of him and her.
"My version of a thank you. You're helping me not make a god awful mistake that my dick will regret in the morning." The tequila was served and he raised the small glass to her. "To you, my chastity belt. Where have you been for five years?" He downed the shot and sucked on a lime.

she feels herself let out a small, relieved sigh when he decides not to wait for an answer. she doesn't have anything charming to say, and she's tired of being a killjoy - he seemed to understand. of course she's not here to talk about her problems, she's here to drown them. and he's here to help. violetta feels the tension melt from her shoulders when the bartender places the shot glass in front of her. this is a bad idea. it may be a boring night to him, but it's a more interesting alternative for violetta. she raises to his toast, and knocks back her shot. "were you going to ask my name, at least?"ROUX LOREthis is awful srry........

After that shot of Tequila, Roux felt loose. He discarded his lime on a napkin and looked to his drinking buddy. Beneath furrowed eyebrows, his eyes darted back and forth when she spoke her question. His face became the evidence of his brain's constipation.
"Were you honestly looking for a formal introduction from an intoxicated man?" He asked her with an eyebrow raised. Her manners were amusing and caused him to give a few snorts.
"Roux." He told her as he pulled his right hand up and offered it to her. He'd pushed his beer bottle to his lips with his left and then set it down. "Like Kanga's son from Winnie the Pooh. Only mine's a French name synonymous with entitled, lazy and drunk every weekend." He forced a smile to her and with his left hand, smacked the bar.
"Another shot for us over here, guy!" He then looked to his new drinking buddy. "You just wait. We'll be sloppy messes."

"not formal." violetta says, snorting at his introduction, taking his hand. but she would have liked a name to hold onto (until the tequila washed it away). "violetta." she answers, though he's never asked. "violetta crane."she lets her hand slip from his, bracing her elbow on the bar and swiveling in her seat to face him. she crosses her legs, almost a mockery of something ladylike as the drinks are poured. she feels her bad mood twisting into something dizzy and good. "to forgetting." her fingers curl around the next shot. violetta has lost track of time - she's toying with an empty shot glass, her shirt ridden up to show the vertabrae by the base of her spine trying to split through the skin; pale body, red faced. she feels hot, and presses a sticky hand against the side of her face. slumping forward onto the bar, she twists, blinking against the lights and wondering where roux had disappeared to; taking the longest piss this side of the atlantic. Roux lifted himself back onto his stool and eyed his comrade in alcoholism. She was still hanging on. There was something about women that could hold their booze that excited him. Not sexually really, just the excitement one felt when finding a playmate perhaps.
"Ready for another round, Vivi?" His eyes were lazy and more than anything, he looked relaxed. The room wasn't ready to spin for him just yet. "I decided on that nickname while I was pissing." He chuckled through a grin, making himself comfortable on his stool and turning his body toward her. "What do ya drink besides shots?" He asked of her and beyond her, in his field of vision, a man was taking notice of her. He rolled his eyes and swung his feet up, hooking her stool's rungs.
She was attractive and he'd made his move to be friendly. He was going to prevent interlopers from taking advantage of her while she was intoxicated. It was his not-so-hard-earned cash that got her that way, after all. They were hyenas waiting around for a gazelle carcass after a lion was finished.
"Ready to hop?" He asked her as he got to his feet, pocketing his cash and leaving a tip. "C'mon. Don't wanna leave ya wide open to guys who are aching for a drunk ride." He waved her up. "Besides, we need some fresh air and a walk."

vivi - it sounds childish, but violetta is long used to people who can't be bothered to sound out her full name. this drunk, she doesn't much care, lets it by with a scoff. she straightens a little, as if to make herself presentable, canting her head to consider the question. "the boring stuff, wine." she's not much of a drinker until someone offers. "drunk ride?" she repeats, slipping off her stool. "you think i look easy?" she can take care of herself, even if her gait is a little crooked and her inhibitions a little lowered. "but alright, where to?" ROUX LORE
