Strutting like a Leonardo DiCaprio, he headed into headquarters. A knowing grin on his face as he caught the receptionist's glance. He raised his eyebrows and tossed her a pointed finger. He blinked rapidly while all he saw her return was a blank stare. Well, that was enough to lower his tempo. He saw people boarding the elevator and he picked up the pace.
"Hold it!" He shouted and no one had made a move to press the button to keep the door open for him. As the doors closed, he frowned and stood in front of the metal doors, looking at his reflection as the elevator car ascended. "Some people's fucking kids." He grumbled and then bit the corner of his mouth, looking around. He stepped over to the elevator call buttons and pressed the up arrow. "And, at this point, I could take the stairs like some poor person or just be late for studio time." He pressed the up button, impatiently, several more times before he stepped backward and folded his arms over his chest.
A text buzzed his posterior and he pulled his phone out to check it.
Where are you? The schedule is very strict! You have five minutes or we forfeit it for the day.
Roux was now at the elevator controls, pressing more furiously than before. Press. Press. Press. Press.
The elevator lights were moving down and he began tapping his foot. An elevator door opened behind him finally and he turned to see people shoving into it already. His eyebrow twitched.
Fuck it. Stairs it is. He was determined to climb ten flights of stairs - his pacing to the stairwell slowed - in five minutes.
Nope. He turned right back around and heard a ding. People shoved through the door and he got in. Despite the cramped conditions. He was never coming here in the morning again.
"Ten, press ten please!" He shouted to the person pressing buttons. He was stuck in the elevator, surrounded by the suits of ANL. Women were near him and he raised his hands in the air awkwardly. He really didn't want to even mistakenly touch anybody.
The tenth floor came and he squeezed himself out of the group of people. Breathing what seemed to be cooler and more refreshing air, he took it in and hurried into studio 4.
"Shut up! I'm here!" He said after a quick jog into the room. "I was stuck in the lobby, you pricks."
"Too late. You're ten minutes late. Studio time's been taken." The manager told him. The sound engineer didn't even bother to make eye contact with him.
"Christ! Ten minutes!" Roux waved his arms. "Who was just waiting around to take my timeslot?" He asked and then looked to the recording booth. "Oh." He stared blankly and sat down. "Well, might as well hear this shit if it's being made on my time. Go ahead." He snorted from the chair.
