[attr="class","dust"] A lot of the time, there's nothing. Well, not like there's never anything in your head, because there is. You're not a frickin' vegetable or something. It's just, when things are slow or boring or overwhelming, there's this nice spot of white noise that spreads and builds and blocks it out until you find yourself somewhere nicer. Sometimes, all you need is somewhere more stimulating. [break][break] Music isn't a stranger. Dad pulls some strings and suddenly the first couple doors you need are open for you. Synthetic beats don't really fit your image, but that's when it hits you — who cares? Who actually gives a shit? Thus a duo dubbed "The Extras" were born, releasing their first EP as a mockery of modern music and trends. It wasn't lyrical so much as it was laughable, but it got their name out in the air. [break][break] The rest is history — leaving home for "music, inspiration" (I hate this perfect fucking house I'm going to burn it down and laugh) and anything else that sounded appropriate to anyone that asked. [break][break] White noise and apathy are pretty much one and the same. The latter makes for a nicer cup of coffee in the morning, and here's why: you pay attention. Before, in Montreal, you did the same stuff (follow the crowd block it out) but then you'd find yourself in sheets stinking of booze with a pair of underwear on and a wicked headache. ( You don't have to hang out with them, honey. They're a bad crowd. Just say no.) [break][break] This time around you're gonna listen. Keep your head up, don't fall asleep, this lesson is important. It's not like you actually care, though. But at least you know what happens. At least you have a choice. That's what you learned somewhere between the EP and the journey to Flandres. Your first order of buisness? [break][break] Get the hell out of dodge. [attr="class","fngapp-quotetxt"]AND WHEN YOU ASKED US WHY WE COULDN'T LOOK YOU IN YOUR EYES, IT'S HARD TO FIND LIFE IN SOMETHING THAT'S ALREADY DIED [attr="class","fngapp-quote"]❞ |
