you've lost touch a long time ago, arguably you were never really in touch. a tantrum brought you halfway across the world on 'une année sabbatique' without warning, without much thought either.

what were you studying at uni? you can't even remember, can you.

tokyo was all bright lights, fast cars, and speedier service. japan never forgave you for being foreign, but she came close to loving you by the time you were going to leave, with a good lick of japanese and a bundle of region exclusive games. prime time anime was good, the merchandise excellent, but you spent too much time hiding, working, and not enough time really trying to live.

live without your parents, that is. your money wealthy father and his 'just a pretty face' wife. you spend your free time wondering if hate them, or you hate them so passively they just can't quite leave your (exhausting) mind.

during your time in exile, you were playing with chords and beats instead of thinking of step two. a plan b. it quickly became addictive. but after a while, salty tears became tasteless and you found yourself bored of thin, small japanese rooms and you wanted to leave. (wasn't that easy?)

but you're a lucky guy. your music gets attention quick and blink blink, you're in canada. flandres. the landscape is bigger and it's hard to get adjusted to english. you're still stuck, but you don't think about that when you're living off music and it's an excitingly mind numbing experience. the label has you on free reign and a death contract.

that's alright. these days you're only ever comfortable locking yourself in your room and transferring the white noise in your head onto display screens; transfer fields of gold into notes and a distorted rhythm. you don't really have time for anything else. anyone else. anything. (until you get tired of this, too.)

games. music. games. music. rinse. repeat. cry. sleep. eat. wake up. don't. breathe.
