i've got those jet pack blues just like judy, the kind that make june feel like september The weather wasn’t all that good today It made him feel sleepy and drained on this particular Friday afternoon. Cloudy skies weren’t exactly favorable but at least he was still dry. The rolling grey clouds gave him a sense of urgency as he made his way down the street while gripping his backpack strap tightly. A rung a few times as he stepped into a flower shop, the smell of damp soil and delicate flowers calming him down. He was sheltered now. There was no need to worry over his papers getting ripped apart of his camera getting wet. Tired eyes glanced around before he begun meandering around. He might as well see if he could buy another tiny cactus for his windowsill. Maybe a bonsai would be cool too, or an orchid. Those were easy to care for right? Heath retrieved his camera after all while deciding this was a good of a time as any to get a few stock photos. Who knew when he would need pictures of plants for a photojournalism class! - #176 - - RENÉE DUVAL- - heath the doormat - - mm yes plant smell - MADE BY VEL OF GS

shoot him again cause i can see his soul dancing i'm gonna miss this place if you give it to me i'll give it back much harder renee sits behind the counter yawning into her hands, legs crossed, and hair tied into plats. having ran to the shop straight after school and barely making it to change shifts with her older co worker, she can't help but feel tired and a little groggy; the weather outside no doubt dragging her spirits down, making her feel anxious and a little pensive. she remains passive and a little tipsy, barely paying attention to the little radio that sits dutifully on the counter playing listless music when she almost jumps out of her skin at the sound of the swinging of the door and the bell ringing. getting up on her feet, she slaps her face gently away from the customer's sight and briskly walks before him, arms behind her back, fingers interlocked, head arching up. there is rhyme and there is reason. "welcome!" she tilts her head to one side and smiles brightly. her voice is soft and her smile reaches her eyes. "do you need any help today? are you looking for anything in particular?"[newclass=.coffin a]font-family:consolas;font-size:14px;letter-spacing:1px;text-align:right;[/newclass]

i've got those jet pack blues just like judy, the kind that make june feel like september The erratic snapping of the shutter suddenly paused as an employee began attending him. He lowered the camera and stared, confused by the young girl’s sudden presence. Heath was even more rattled by the fact that what came out of her mouth wasn’t English at all, which was pretty much all he ever heard in Flanders except maybe when he called his parents. Opening and closing he uttered clumsy French in response. “H-Hello!” “Not really. Well- Actually, I’m thinking about getting a low maintenance house plant for my apartment.” He explained, averting his eyes back to the plants he had been photographing. She seemed a bit young to be working in a flower shop, or maybe she was just small. He speculated briefly as to why a young teenager was taking care of the shop before pushing away the thoughts. It didn’t really matter anyway. “I have a few cacti but I heard they might not be in season or something…” he added, absently turning a nob on the camera before looking back at her. “I guess I could try to install something for a hanging plant? I dunno.”

shoot him again cause i can see his soul dancing i'm gonna miss this place if you give it to me i'll give it back much harder she looks first at his camera, then at the assorted rows of potted plants and back at the customer with an uneasy smile. she leans forward in a move that would only welcome a kind of suspicion she doesn't understand and whispers into his ear: "you're not supposed to take photos here, but it's okay, i'll pretend i didn't see anything..." then briskly, she acts passive, with wide eyes with hands behind her back once more. "ah, cacti!" she claps her hands in affirmation. "if you are looking for a new type, why don't you try a flowering, forest cacti?" she reaches in front of him and takes a pot in her hands. "as for seasons, you shouldn't worry! spring is a great time for cacti!" she is chipper, body stiff but lax enough not to create tension. "as for hanging plants, we do have a wide selection at varying prices and of course, i can help you find something more specific for you if you give me a better idea for what you're looking for." she hands the pot to him. i've got those jet pack blues just like judy, the kind that make june feel like september Heath suppressed the urge to shudder, unused to a female being so tentatively close to his person, much less his ears. He was unnerved but he decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, she had begun speaking with French instead of English. He only nodded, putting away the camera. The mention of flower already had him sold. He really needed something colorful to brighten up his stark apartment. He studied the cactus handed to him, excited to add another one to his growing collection of tiny cactuses. He wanted to paint their pots during the weekend and maybe take a few pictures for his phone background. “Oh ok. I was worried the weather might affect them too much.” The blonde replied, noting that not he could open the windows of his home without fear of the weather affecting his plants. “Something maybe twice or three times the size of the cactus for my windowsill. Though if you have anything bigger I’d be cool with tat too. I could put something on the kitchen counter.” He explained following Renee, quietly excited at the prospect of plant shopping. He busied himself with glancing around at all the options the shop held as well as pretty rocks and pots and all kinds of cute accessories for gardens. - #219 - - RENÉE DUVAL- - heath the doormat - - mm yes plant smell - MADE BY VEL OF GS

shoot him again cause i can see his soul dancing i'm gonna miss this place if you give it to me i'll give it back much harder she shakes her head. "you're a very careful plant owner!" she claps her hands together. "root rot is a potential problem during the winter for cacti as they're not meant to take in too much water. in fact, i'd suggest not watering them in the winter at all, but since they don't need much water regularly anyways, you're fine! i am sure you have nothing to be worried about!"her mind then wanders through catalogs of plants, at least, from what she remembers. she does her homework every night but even a sponge has its limits, but when she thinks of something her eyes widen and a finger taps at the side of her face. "if i'm thinking of house plants, i know of a few that actually can purify the air! are you more interested in flowering plants, or?" she blinks twice, tilting her head to one side. i've got those jet pack blues just like judy, the kind that make june feel like september The blond followed around, silently amazed at the little pinkette. He wondered if she had some sort of botanical encyclopedia Britannica downloaded into her brain. He nodded, confident that his two little cacti were fine. They had been for a while now why wouldn’t they be fine? He was thinking of moving both into slightly bigger pots but it didn’t seem like an extremely urgent errand. After all Jean Jr and Otis were still a vibrant green color. “Eh? Uh-" he muttered a little startled, having been paying attention to a far off selection of tiny watering cans. "Hmmm…Both sound pretty nice to be honest. I was already planning in taking a couple back with me anyways.” He replied, happy at the thought of having more flowers in his home. He was positive could make them flower. After all, he had practice for so long with the small windowsill garden he had. He was sure he was now officially responsible enough to take care of slightly higher maintenance house plants. “Do you like plants or are you just required to know all this information because of your employer?” the student asked rather suddenly, eyeing the girl. She could have been a young high schooler but as far as he was concerned teenagers weren’t really heavily into gardening. - #199 - - RENÉE DUVAL- - heath the doormat - - mm yes plant smell - MADE BY VEL OF GS

"i'm so sorry! so sorry!" she squeaks out, dipping her head. "i'm um, just really interested in plants, i get too excited, i go overboard, i'm sorry." her gaze returns to him. she laughs nervously, itching the side of her chin. eyes darts towards the buckets of fresh flowers at the other side of the shop floor. "perhaps... you'd feel better just browsing... taking a better look at what we're got?" she offers meekly, lips pressed together. the manager's voice bleats through her mind, time and time again, instructions, tips. 'don't scare the customers!' 'don't overwhelm them!' haha. ha. she nods offbeat. "i've... always been interested in plants."[newclass=.coffin a]font-family:consolas;font-size:14px;letter-spacing:1px;text-align:right;[/newclass]

i've got those jet pack blues just like judy, the kind that make june feel like september Heath was visibly startled, having been examining some sort of small sized fichus. He turned torwards the pinkette eyes wide with surprise as she begins apologizing, and he isn’t even sure why. He waved a hand quickly, trying to dismiss whatever misunderstanding had occurred. “No, no! It’s good to know a lot about your work. I didn’t mean that to come off as rude.” He replied, his voice dropping in volume in hopes that it calm the girl down a little. He was sure he was being polite right? “Well whatever’s fine honestly.” He stated in no rush to move in any particular direction. Heath was still preoccupied with planning out where exactly to place his plants. Flowers would be a nice touch but did he even have a vase? A terrarium would be could too and would be good for stock photography and still lifes. He paused attempting to remember how much cash he had in his bank account. He didn’t want to call home for allowance and let his parents know he spent it all on plants instead of film. “It’s not a bad thing to be incredibly knowledgeable about a particular subject.” The blonde noted softly moving over to the buckets of flower bouquets. The boy flashed a smile at the teenager before asking, “What exactly got you into it? I started looking into plants after I found out about night blooms.” Not to mention is was relaxing enough to put him to bed if he had a particularly bad fit of insomnia. High school was not a healthy moment in time for the blonde. - #268 - - RENÉE DUVAL- - heath the doormat - - gomen i took forever qwq - MADE BY VEL OF GS
