Nobody gives a shit about the drummer. The drummer's always in the back, hidden by the charisma of the lead singer, the smolder of the guitarist, and nonchalant cool of the bassist. Knowing this, let me tell you, Lars Jacobson is no wallflower drummer. Between their lead singer's...well banshee like vocals, the strumming guitar, and the frankly unnecessary bass, Lars is a roaring rocket ship just begging for attention. He plays like there's no tomorrow. He plays as if all of Quebec's power grid depended on his one man drumming generator. There's no stopping this crazy platinum blonde energizer bunny.

I first saw them at the Rox earlier this month and my first impression of Wild Banshees, a Texas band from the US, was pretty underwhelming. They were loud and proud, and that was about it. Still, as I sipped my Moscow Mule and watched the mosh pit growing in the pit area, I couldn't help but notice this maniac machine in the back. There was so much power. There was so much fire in the way he banged out each note, it just draws you in. And I can see it reflected in everyone else as well. The honest truth is, no one would pay that much attention to Wild Banshees, yet everyone in the audience were fixated on them. Lars was the driving force, the giant flag that 'LOOK AT US!'.

They better give him a raise cause without Lars, Wild Banshees would have had a very short run.
