What the fuck? Lukas wanted to pretend he didn't hear it, just keep walking, but that offer scared him. He turned, stomping toward the car until he was close enough. Fists tugged at his own hair, screaming back, "WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SO NICE TO ME?!" He didn't understand, he didn't like it. All he wanted was for Lance to hate him, use him, toss him aside. Why? Why did he have to make Lukas think he cared? The upset boy flung a rock in the car's general direction. He didn't really wanna hit it, but at the same time he wanted to ruin everything that'd gone right so far. Was this a game? A taste of his own sick medicine or--no, this was the remedy. To a man that wished for death, Lance was giving him life.
"FUCK YOU!" He screamed again, running up and kicking the car. Teeth dug into his lower-lip, standing there, glaring just below wherever Lance was because he couldn't look directly at him. "Fucking asshole," he started, still grumbling cursing though they'd become incoherent. Leave. Just drive the fuck away already... or, in the very least, get out and hit me. That's all Lukas wanted from him, anyway. To get beaten. Trash. He was trash. Not worth the effort, not worth anything. Just trash. He'd never be anything better. The boy gritted his teeth, clenched his knuckles tighter. He wasn't crying, but a small drop from his damp hair fell on his cheek, sliding down to disappear beneath his small jaw.

Lance blinked at him, just staring and watching as his car was hit with a rock and kicked. What the actual hell was going on? This kid was more mental than he originally thought, but damn. The majority of the time he'd been kidding. Apparently it wasn't too far from the actual truth.
Eventually he couldn't take having his car being kicked over and over and he got out of the car, grabbed the skinny punk by the shirt and dragged him to the passenger side. He threw him in, then closed the door and walked around to the driver side and got in himself. However, he didn't start up the car. No, he looked over at Lukas and stared at him with mean eyes. "The fuck is going on?"

Lukas snarled, thrashing and grunting until he was thrown in the passenger seat. He gasped, fighting with the door that seemed to be stuck. Or locked. He was too far defeated when it didn't immediately open for him. The kid glanced back, undaunted by those mean eyes. He'd seen meaner eyes.
"Worry about your fucking self," Lukas growled, plucking the switch to unlock the door. Much to his annoyance, the latter only locked it before he could get the door open. A few more instances of this, and the boy slammed his weak fists on his thighs. Legs tucked under, far too frustrated to stay still. He thrashed about, throwing punches at the air and banging on the window like a monster. A wild tantrum until he tired himself out, leaning against the door and panting.
"Why," his voice cracked, like it often did when he sang through his screaming, "don't fucking act like you care. You don't fucking care... don't act like it. I know you don't." He rambled, pulling his legs up to hug against his chest.

"Trust me. I care about my own self plenty," he replied to the snarling male before him as they played their game of Lock and Unlock. He watched as he thrashed and kicked and screamed, throwing quite the tantrum as if this car were his stage and Lance was his audience.
There was no real reason as to why Lance was putting forth the effort to care except for the mere fact that he was there and so was Lukas so he was going to care because he was involved. He also cared because that's how Lukas took a beating. Lance figured that out a long time ago. The kid deserved something, though he liked getting hit, so the only way to give him what he deserved was to apparently show him what he didn't expect.
"You don't know shit about me," Lance replied with a hiss. "You've hung out with me for one night and attempted to fight me a few days prior. Don't try to act like you know who I am or how I work."
Honestly, it was insulting.
"I'll do whatever the fuck I want to and if that means driving you home or wherever it is you rest your ass, then i'm going to do it. You woke up in my car. My domain." He also didn't want to deal with the fact that he'd put a 19 year old kid out in the middle of the city. Lance had enough shit on his mind to deal with.

None of that made any sense, none of that was the point. He didn't need to know anything about Lance, aside from the fun he'd had with him and that this fucking guy kept giving him things. Talking to him in a way that didn't piss him off, didn't try to beat the shit outta him. "You don't just do shit like that for someone you hate," and Lukas shouted as much. His feet stomped on the floor as he said it, bubbling with energetic rage. This city was his domain, every other block was a place he sat his ass.
Who did Lance think he was? Some rich brat wasting his time? "Why didn't you just leave?" Lukas was bent forward, head rested in his palms. His elbows on the dash, nail digging into his skin. It woulda been a lot easier if Lance had just driven off. Then he would have known all of this was just for show, just to be nice for the sake of some bratty kid. Not even his friends, his bandmates, would do all of what Lance had done in one night for him. They woulda driven off, they woulda kicked him out, they woulda fucked him up.
And they'd laugh about, so Lukas would laugh, and they'd be friends. And they'd all keep meeting up, to hurt each other again. A means to keep their sour hearts dead, because just one beat--one beat--was enough. Too much, even. A reason to care about anything, that's what Lukas didn't need. Especially not if he cared about himself, worried about what might happen if he got off right here. If Lance had left. The world was to damn dangerous to give a shit if this breath was your last.
What direction should he have given? To where? There wasn't a place in this godforsaken city he'd call home, just nooks and crannies that seemed safe enough to squat down and rest for an hour or so. His stomach ached when he told Lance the address where his house was, his arm bleeding where he idly scratched at his skin. "You can drop me off there." He fell silent after that, the quiet eye of the storm.

"How can a person hate someone they don't know?" He asked the poor boy, Lance's voice monotone and deep as he spoke to him. "I don't know you."
Lance continued to watch the other male as he battled with himself. He watched him claw at his skin, rake red lines against that pale white canvas. It was pitiful to watch.
"I didn't leave because I'm involved," Lance replied as he started up the car and put it in gear. "I only care about things I'm involved in."
Positive or negative, it didn't matter. Lance had his own rules and they'd worked for him so far. They were rough and a bit raw, but it kept him from spending unnecessary energy on things that didn't matter. If it didn't involve him, why care? Until this person was no longer associated with Lance, he was involved. He would care.
When given the address, Lance pulled out of the parking lot and headed in that direction, listening to the dangerously calm silence.

As Lance drove, the city would dwindle down to rows of small, ugly houses. The impoverished outskirts, where scary-faced boys stood on street corners and let their eyes follow the car. Lukas had his head rested against the window, eventually turning it down so no one would see him. As if they wouldn't recognize that haircut, the one his mom always gave him because he was a smart boy, she always said, so he should look as much. Her smart, handsome boy, with an jagged arrow pointing to his crotch.
Right, a smart boy.
Joining the acceleration of the car were aggressive barks from dogs on chains, big, ugly dogs. Dark-skinned boys sitting on porches, smoke billowing from their lips. Overgrown yards, broken fences. The house Lukas grew-up in was between the corner lot and the middle. Not old, but still worn-down. Instead of the lattice base, his house was on stilts. Eyes glowed in the shadows beneath it, a family of feral cats that only stuck around for the rotten food the brunette threw out for them.
He turned to Lance as they'd come to a stop. "Thanks," he said, though his tone indicated sarcasm. And it wasn't that the neighborhood was particularly dangerous--there were worse places he could live--it was coming home he hated. But, if Lance wanted to be such a nice guy, he'd let him take him home. He was safer there, right? Safer than being left in the city? Right? The kid narrowed his eyes, unlocking the door and slowly getting outta the car.

Lukas still didn't get it. Lance wasn't trying to be A Nice Guy. That wasn't Lance. He wasn't trying to be responsible. If Lukas wanted to be dropped off at a damn junk yard, Lance would've taken him there, but he wasn't going to not assist when he could have and felt obligated.
The neighborhood didn't bother him. The sights and sounds didn't bother him either. He knew what living in a place like this was like. He knew what it felt like because he'd lived it and it wasn't as if his own apartment was in any better shape.
He reached out and took a hold of the younger male's wrist, looking at him with a mean and blank face. "I said I'd take you anywhere you wanted to go." A gentle tug on the boy's wrist towards Lance was given. "You obviously don't want to be here."

Where else was he supposed to go? It was either this, or wandering aimlessly. And truth be told, he was slightly worried about his mom since he'd been gone so long. Lukas just didn't wanna deal with any of it. Yet, here he was, a few steps and a leap over a fence that looked like it'd been run over by truck, and he'd be inside that old house. He clenched his fists, staring at the pavement. It was really fucking with his head, being around Lance. As much as he didn't wanna be here, he had to get away from this guy. He jerked his wrist to break that shackling grip, "It's fine. I'll just check on things and head out again." As stated, "It's no big deal."

He frowned again, but he didn't have to be told twice. When Lukas pulled his wrist away, Lance let him go and gripped his steering wheel instead. "If you say so," he replied and gave the throttle a bit of a rev as an indication that once Lukas closed that door, he was gone. And as such, when the door shut, Lance pulled out of the driveway and sped off in the opposite direction of the little punk's house.
