When his parents found out, they tried so hard to get Michael to tell them what happened, but he wouldn't spill. There was no way he was going to let them know who did this to his face. Another stress added onto his already overflowing stockpile.
Michael wouldn't press charges.
The gash left him needing stitches, disinfecting, and bandages placed in such a way that he couldn't see out of his left eye for a while. Teddy, just to make sure, added extra bandaids on top of the eye gauze.
After everything was sorted and dealt with, Michael went out to find Lukas. He had some answers to give him, clear by the gig's happenings that the frontman was expecting some.

When it happened, Teddy wasn’t even paying attention. At least not enough to prevent what had happened. He had been too busy trying to keep his fingers from playing random notes that had nothing to do with the song while giving the ladies sly grins and tongue wags. Mikah had fucked up slightly, which meant that he was fucking up too, since he depended on the blonde far too much for cues. He hadn’t hear the shout or saw the singer pinning the bassist. He had finished the song and had leaned down to try and kiss a girl when he heard the scream. It pierced through the cheer of the crowd, raw and desperate. He had snapped his head around, wondering what the hell was going on and the disbelief on his face would have been funny if not for what was happening in front of him. By the time Teddy had stood up to run over and help Mikah, it was too late.
“Oh my god. Oh my fucking god!” His own cry mingling with Michael’s scream. “Fucking…shit fuck!” it was all he could say. Blood dripped on his guitar. It took awhile for him to get Michael up and help from the people working the event. Now he hovered around Michael, quiet for once. There was still something about the situation that he hadn’t processed yet. Lukas always cut himself on stage, and at first it had startled Teddy, having never really seen that side of his friend. After awhile he got used to it. Even reveled in it. But Lukas had never harmed anyone else in the band except for the occasional tussle and threats. Teddy followed along, wanting to say something, but really finding himself lacking words.

They'd find Lukas, of course, in his usual hovel. He'd hoped it'd be a few days before these two came looking for him, when it'd be easier to feign his happiness to see anyone he knew. A silent storm, he was sitting on a busted sofa with four white lines on the table in front of him. Two other guys and girl staring like feral wolves at the pair, the bigger guy especially interested in Teddy. The friends Lukas kept on the side, the ones that his bandmates didn't know and followed the singer like dark shadows even in the brightest rooms. "Nice seeing-eye pup you got there," Lukas smirked, rolling a tight dollar bill, "the dumb leading the blind, I suppose." Dismissively, he leaned forward to take a sniff.
He stopped, however, "What the fuck do you guys want, anyway?" His brows furrowed. "If it's about the band, fuck the band. I'm done."

The extra people in the room didn't bother him and he'd honestly ignored their presence when they entered the space. His gaze glanced down at the lines, then he looked over at the frontman with a frown. His comments about his face, and about Teddy, were rude and he wasn't in the mood to deal with them. He stepped closer and glared down at him.
"Like hell you're done. I didn't go through this just to hear you say that you're finished with the band," he replied with a growl to his voice, pointing at his face, then at the other band member. "You scared the shit out of Teddy." Granted, Michael could barely remember what had happened right before he passed out. He just remembered the smaller boy looking terrified.
Michael took another step towards Lukas. "I'm quitting school."

He had only gone over to Lukas’ spot a few times. Most of the time they hung out at Teddy’s shitty apartment, if they decided to hang out at all. Teddy stood behind the taller boy, squinting through the haze of cigarette smoke and spat at the bigger man when he tried to approach him. “You’re a piece of shit, Lukas,” he grumbled back, his retort weak. He had never seen that much blood at once and it was still making his knees quiver. He moved up, standing next to Michael.
“Also shut the fuck up Mikah. I wasn’t scared.” He growled at the bassist, shoving him slightly with his elbow. “That was fucked up, what you did Lukas. That was real…” Michael’s statement interrupted the beginning of his rant and he raised a thick eyebrow at the other boy. He’d never thought he’d hear the day Michael finally made a decision. His parents were going to kill him.

Very quickly, Lukas stood up and kicked the table over. "GET THE FUCK OUT!!" He screamed at the spare persons in the room, "Everybody get the fuck out!" As much as Teddy didn't care, neither did this scrappy youth as he started shoving his so-called friends out. This wasn't something that was anyone's business except the boys involved.
Once they'd left, that hard, ugly scowl softened. "No one told you to drop-out, dumbass." Michael wasn't like him, or Teddy. Especially Teddy, the dumbest of the bunch (you know it's true). Lukas pointed a finger, angered by the useless band-aids on top of the wrappings. Idiots. Idiots. "You're not gonna drop-out." That's not what he wanted to hear.
He just wanted Michael to focus. Whether his parents liked it or not, and he was still going to stay in school and work hard to graduate. He could be smart, but he didn't have to be good. "You got a fucking complex with your parents, man. You get anything less than perfect and you fall to fucking pieces the next day," it wasn't right, it wasn't healthy.
Lukas didn't like how his parents grinded Michael, when he was such a good student. They dismissed his successes. It wasn't like he fucking failed, he just missed a few answers in a flawed school system. If he was gonna sell his soul, he'd rather it be to the band. There's where it was anyway, and Lukas could hear it in the way he played. He growled, throwing a fist against the wall adjacent him.
"You need to stop worrying about what they think," he spoke harshly, pointing a crooked finger at Michael, "And think for your fucking self. Are you doing alright? Fucking good. Stop dragging ass on stage." Lukas wasn't going to sit around and let anyone tell him he'd done something wrong. Now Michael had a cut on his face, big fucking deal. At least he wasn't fucking dead.

Michael scowled a little at Teddy when he was elbowed. He was totally scared, just trying to look all tough. He stood there silent and still as Lukas threw his tantrum in order to get the unwanted people out of the room when he'd expressed his desire to quit school, but what came after that was unexpected.
"What do you mean I'm not quitting school?" He scowled at Lukas next. Who was he to tell him what he was or wasn't going to do? He listened to what the frontman was going to say, but at the end of it all, he wasn't happy about what he'd been told.
"Fuck you, Lukas!" He stormed over at him and gave him a shove. "Fuck you! My parents can't tell me what to do, but you can?!" What a fucking hypocrite. How could he say to think for himself, yet tell him what to do? And he shouted at Lukas as much.
His head was hurting and his eye stung, so he held his face in his hands and trembled. He couldn't hold it in anymore. He started crying from all the stress, from his parents, from Lukas, from school. Everything. It was all so heavy on top of him and he just wanted out!
"What if I don't want to graduate!!" Michael pulled his face out of his hands and screamed at the other, tears streaming down his face out of frustration and anger. "What if I don't want to be smart anymore?!" He couldn't balance school and the band. Or at least that's what he thought anyway. He only knew what he'd already tried, not a new way of doing things.

Teddy jumped when Lukas flipped the table over. Cocaine flew every which way and he sneezed, accidentally inhaling some. Lukas’ reaction to Michael quitting school wasn’t exactly what he expected either. Nothing seemed to be doing things the way it was supposed to do tonight. Teddy blinked some of the dust out of his eyes. He kept wiping at his eyes as Michael started to shove the singer, and the two argued. Teddy’s head spun. He rushed over, standing partway between Mikah and Lukas, in case the other decide to fight back from the shove. “OH GOD FUCKING STOP!” He screeched, a bit louder than he needed to. Teddy stopped, holding his arms out to keep Lukas a distance away. “Just…stop,” he mumbled. Now that he was standing there, he suddenly didn’t know what to say. He just wanted all of the yelling to stop. “My god you two are fucked up,” he said, shaking his head.
He turned to Michael, trying to gather his thoughts. The dust had settled but he had inhaled a good amount of it. “You’re smart, not like the rest of us dumb fuckers,” he shrugged. He didn’t regret quitting school, mostly because he hadn’t been doing well at it anyway. But Michael was always good at it. Some part of Teddy admired that. “You gotta stop letting people push you around, Michael.” He stopped again, taking a deep breath. "Also, you're bleeding through your bandage."

What did he mean? He meant don't make dumbass decisions after a traumatic experience, because apparently getting your face cut was a big deal. When shoved, Lukas pushed back. "GOOD, THEN DROP-OUT," he really didn't care, as long as fucking Michael stood up for himself. "JUST MAKE YOUR MIND UP, AND STICK TO FUCKING SOMETHING." Advancing, he gave Michael another shove before Teddy had come between them. Luckily, he was there to translate the aggression coming off Lukas.
Michael was smart. He didn't need them, and that's what really pissed Lukas off. His parents cared, in their own way. They pushed him to do better, but it pissed him off even more that as good as Michael was it wasn't good enough for them. It was good enough for him and Teddy. His standards were an insult, whether he meant it or not. Lukas stood there, glaring at the blonde before letting a snort. "Good thing you got all those band-aids as backup."

God, he hated how he cried when he was angry. It just gave Lukas more fuel for his fire, even if he hadn't spoken it yet, Michael was sure he was going to at some point. He listened to Teddy, but it was taken in half-assed. He wanted to get at Lukas and punch him right in the face, but he wasn't allowed to get close enough.
Instead, Michael paced the room, tears streaking down his face. He gritted his teeth as he listened, staring at the floor. He'd scratch at his head, then turn and punch the wall with all he had. He pressed his forehead to the wall, leaning up against it. "That's what I'm trying to fuckin' do, LUKAS." He pulled away from the wall and stalked around the boys, glaring at them. "What's the fuckin' point if I only get goddamn C's? Sure I graduated, but THEY'RE FUCKIN' C'S,"
He needed something to punch, to kick, to pound against and let out his frustrations. The table had already been tossed around and the chairs were too big to do anything with.
Then he realized the blood. It was because his blood pressure shot up. Jesus Christ... "Shut the fuck up Lukas before I bust through Teddy to get at your stupid ass."
